Fort Falls is a modest but scenic cascade waterfall in Nebraska, falling 45 ft.

Its water comes from spring-fed tributary of the Niobrara River. It lies in Cherry, Nebraska. The site is on public land managed by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge).

This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 0.8 miles round trip. The nearest town is Valentine.

When to go: Spring through fall. Like most waterfalls, Fort Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
