Conasauga Falls is a 35-foot waterfall on Conasauga Creek in the Cherokee National Forest near Tellico Plains. The roughly 1.5-mile round-trip trail descends steeply via switchbacks with about 400 feet of elevation change to the base.
Its 35 ft drop is taller than about 27% of the 775 waterfalls we track.
Its water comes from Conasauga Creek. It lies in Monroe, Tennessee. The site is on public land managed by Cherokee National Forest (USFS).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk in is brief — comfortable shoes are usually all you need. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 1.5 miles round trip. The nearest town is Tellico Plains.
When to go: Spring (high flow). Flow usually peaks after snowmelt and heavy rain and tapers through late summer — a quick look at recent streamflow and the managing agency's conditions page can save a wasted trip.
