A streaking cascade on Lupine Creek in northern Yellowstone, reached by a short, easy trail through sagebrush meadows and conifer forest. The NPS lists the falls at 79 feet, though some sources cite about 100 feet.
At 79 ft, it stands above roughly 58% of the 775 documented falls in this guide.
The falls are fed by Lupine Creek. You'll find it in Park, Wyoming. It is protected within National Park Service (Yellowstone National Park).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. A short walk gets you to the viewpoint, so it works for most casual visitors and families. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 0.8 miles round trip. Base a visit out of Mammoth Hot Springs, the closest town.
When to go: Late spring to early summer. Like most waterfalls, Wraith Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
