Pine Creek Falls is a multi-step cascade in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness of the Custer Gallatin National Forest, on the east side of Paradise Valley about ten miles south of Livingston. A roughly 1-mile trail from the Pine Creek Campground area reaches the viewing footbridge below the falls.
The falls are fed by Pine Creek. It lies in Park, Montana. The site is on public land managed by Custer Gallatin National Forest (USFS).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk in is brief — comfortable shoes are usually all you need. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 2.5 miles round trip. The nearest town is Livingston.
When to go: summer. Flow usually peaks after snowmelt and heavy rain and tapers through late summer — a quick look at recent streamflow and the managing agency's conditions page can save a wasted trip.
