Kootenai Falls is a cascade waterfall in Montana with a documented drop of 90 ft (27 m).

Its water comes from Kootenai River. You'll find it in Lincoln County, Montana. It is protected within USDA Forest Service (Kootenai National Forest).

This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 1.5 miles round trip. Base a visit out of Libby, the closest town.

When to go: late spring to summer. Like most waterfalls, Kootenai Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
