Kennedy Falls is a 25-to-30-foot waterfall, the fourth and last of the falls along the North Fork of the Blackwater River near the ghost town of Douglas, accessed off the Blackwater Canyon Rail Trail near Thomas. Reaching a view at the base requires a steep, sometimes rope-assisted descent.

At 28 ft, it stands above roughly 17% of the 775 documented falls in this guide.

Kennedy Falls sits on North Fork Blackwater River. You'll find it in Tucker, West Virginia. It is protected within U.S. Forest Service (Monongahela National Forest).

This is a moderate hike waterfall: a longer day hike, roughly one to several miles each way. Plan for a moderate hike; sturdy shoes, water, and a little time on the trail are worth bringing. Base a visit out of Thomas, the closest town.

When to go: spring. Like most waterfalls, Kennedy Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
