Adams Canyon Falls is a roughly 40-foot waterfall on the North Fork of Holmes Creek in the Wasatch foothills above Layton. The popular out-and-back trail runs about 3.5 miles with roughly 1,400 feet of gain, climbing switchbacks and a shaded canyon before a steep, rocky final stretch.
Its 40 ft drop is taller than about 33% of the 775 waterfalls we track.
Its water comes from North Fork Holmes Creek. It lies in Davis, Utah. The site is on public land managed by Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest (USFS).
This is a moderate hike waterfall: a longer day hike, roughly one to several miles each way. Reaching it takes a moderate walk, so budget time and pack water before you set out. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 3.5 miles round trip. The nearest town is Layton.
When to go: Spring through fall (Apr-Oct). Water volume swings with the seasons here, strongest after snowmelt or rain and lowest in late summer, so check recent streamflow before you go.
