Tanque Verde Falls is a seasonal cascade-and-pool system on Tanque Verde Creek in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson, with a lower drop near 30 feet and an upper drop reported around 75-80 feet during high flow. The trail is short but involves steep, slick rock scrambling.

Its 75 ft drop is taller than about 57% of the 775 waterfalls we track.

Its water comes from Tanque Verde Creek. It lies in Pima, Arizona. The site is on public land managed by Coronado National Forest (USFS).

This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk in is brief — comfortable shoes are usually all you need. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 1.8 miles round trip. The nearest town is Tucson.

When to go: Winter and spring after rain or snowmelt. Water volume swings with the seasons here, strongest after snowmelt or rain and lowest in late summer, so check recent streamflow before you go.
