A seasonal waterfall on a tributary of Post Oak Creek within the Charon's Garden Wilderness of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The unmarked, rocky trail passes through a boulder-strewn landscape; the rocks around the falls are slippery.
Its water comes from Post Oak Creek tributary. It lies in Comanche County, Oklahoma. The site is on public land managed by Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk in is brief — comfortable shoes are usually all you need. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 1.4 miles round trip. The nearest town is Indiahoma.
When to go: Spring (after rain). Flow usually peaks after snowmelt and heavy rain and tapers through late summer — a quick look at recent streamflow and the managing agency's conditions page can save a wasted trip.
