A small seasonal waterfall on Owens Creek at milepost 52.4 of the Natchez Trace Parkway near Hermanville, at the southern terminus of the Rocky Springs Section of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. Because its spring source has dried up, it flows only after heavy rainfall.
The falls are fed by Owens Creek. You'll find it in Claiborne, Mississippi. It is protected within National Park Service (Natchez Trace Parkway).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. A short walk gets you to the viewpoint, so it works for most casual visitors and families. Base a visit out of Hermanville, the closest town.
When to go: Winter and spring (flows only after heavy rain). Like most waterfalls, Owens Creek Waterfall runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
