A very tall slab cascade that sheets down a granite face into tiny Lipsy Lake before draining to the Taylor River near North Bend. The long approach follows the Taylor River Trail, with only the lower portion of the falls visible.
Its water comes from Otter Creek. It lies in King, Washington. The site is on public land managed by Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest (USFS).
This is a backcountry waterfall: a remote, long, or permit-required trek for prepared visitors. This one is deep enough in that you should plan for a full backcountry trip — map, water, and a margin of daylight. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 9.5 miles round trip. The nearest town is North Bend.
When to go: spring. Water volume swings with the seasons here, strongest after snowmelt or rain and lowest in late summer, so check recent streamflow before you go.
