Makapipi Falls is an unusual Hāna Highway waterfall near mile marker 25 that flows directly beneath the road bridge, letting visitors stand on the bridge and look straight down onto it. Flow is seasonal and can dwindle to a trickle during dry spells.

Makapipi Falls sits on Makapipi Stream. You'll find it in Maui, Hawaii. It is protected within Hawaii DOT (Hāna Highway right-of-way).

This is a roadside waterfall: visible from a road, parking area, or a walk of a few hundred feet. Because it sits right off the road, it makes an easy stop on a longer trip and works for visitors with limited time or mobility. Base a visit out of Hāna, the closest town.

When to go: year-round. Expect the strongest flow in spring and after big storms, with a quieter trickle by late summer; confirm current conditions with the land manager before committing to the drive.
