Limekiln Falls is a roughly 100-foot waterfall that fans down a limestone wall in Limekiln State Park on the Big Sur coast. A short trail of about 2.65 miles round trip follows Limekiln and Hare creeks through redwoods to the base; portions of the trail have been subject to closures, so check current status.
At 100 ft, it stands above roughly 74% of the 775 documented falls in this guide.
The falls are fed by Limekiln Creek. You'll find it in Monterey, California. It is protected within Limekiln State Park (California State Parks).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. A short walk gets you to the viewpoint, so it works for most casual visitors and families. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 2.65 miles round trip. Base a visit out of Lucia, the closest town.
When to go: Winter to spring. Expect the strongest flow in spring and after big storms, with a quieter trickle by late summer; confirm current conditions with the land manager before committing to the drive.
