Glade Creek Grist Mill Falls is a stream-wide, roughly 15-foot waterfall beside the iconic, fully functional replica grist mill at Babcock State Park, one of the most photographed spots in West Virginia. A short stone pathway leads down to the falls and access is wheelchair-friendly.
Its 15 ft drop is taller than about 7% of the 775 waterfalls we track.
Glade Creek Grist Mill Falls sits on Glade Creek. It lies in Fayette, West Virginia. The site is on public land managed by West Virginia State Parks (Babcock State Park).
This is a roadside waterfall: visible from a road, parking area, or a walk of a few hundred feet. Little to no walking is required, so it suits a quick roadside pull-off rather than a dedicated hike. The nearest town is Clifftop.
When to go: fall. Flow usually peaks after snowmelt and heavy rain and tapers through late summer — a quick look at recent streamflow and the managing agency's conditions page can save a wasted trip.
