Laughing Whitefish Falls is a fan waterfall in Michigan with a documented drop of 100 ft (30 m).
Its water comes from Laughing Whitefish River. You'll find it in Alger, Michigan. It is protected within Laughing Whitefish Falls State Scenic Site (Michigan DNR).
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 1 miles round trip. Base a visit out of Sundell, the closest town.
When to go: Spring snowmelt (Apr-Jun). Like most waterfalls, Laughing Whitefish Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
