The Hornbecks Creek (Indian Ladders) area in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area holds a series of waterfalls including the roughly 35-40 foot main Indian Ladders Falls plus upper and lower drops. The trail system is split into upper and lower sections due to erosion.
At 40 ft, it stands above roughly 33% of the 775 documented falls in this guide.
The falls are fed by Hornbecks Creek. You'll find it in Pike, Pennsylvania. It is protected within National Park Service (Delaware Water Gap NRA).
This is a moderate hike waterfall: a longer day hike, roughly one to several miles each way. Plan for a moderate hike; sturdy shoes, water, and a little time on the trail are worth bringing. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 2.7 miles round trip. Base a visit out of Dingmans Ferry, the closest town.
When to go: Spring. Like most waterfalls, Indian Ladders Falls (Hornbecks Creek) runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
