Horsetail Falls is a tall horsetail waterfall in Alaska, dropping 328 ft (100 m).

Its water comes from tributary of the Lowe River (Keystone Canyon). You'll find it in Chugach Census Area, Alaska.

This is a roadside waterfall: visible from a road, parking area, or a walk of a few hundred feet. Base a visit out of Valdez, the closest town.

When to go: Late spring through summer (snowmelt-fed); ice-climbing destination in winter. Like most waterfalls, Horsetail Falls runs highest after snowmelt or heavy rain and can thin out in late summer, so it's worth checking recent streamflow and the land manager's conditions page before a long drive.
