DeSoto Falls is a system of waterfalls on Frogtown Creek in the DeSoto Falls Scenic Area of the Chattahoochee National Forest, with an upper drop of roughly 200 feet and a lower drop near 35 feet. Observation decks along the trail reach the Lower and Upper falls.
Its 200 ft drop is taller than about 88% of the 775 waterfalls we track.
Its water comes from Frogtown Creek. It lies in Lumpkin, Georgia. The site is on public land managed by Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest (USFS).
This is a moderate hike waterfall: a longer day hike, roughly one to several miles each way. Reaching it takes a moderate walk, so budget time and pack water before you set out. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 2.1 miles round trip. The nearest town is Dahlonega.
