Bridal Veil Falls is a roughly 40-to-45-foot spring-fed waterfall in the Lincoln National Forest near High Rolls, reached on an old rail-to-trail grade. The permanent springs feeding it flow year-round even in drought years.
Its 45 ft drop is taller than about 35% of the 775 waterfalls we track.
Its water comes from Fresnal Creek. It lies in Otero, New Mexico. The site is on public land managed by Lincoln National Forest.
This is a short hike waterfall: reached by a short trail, generally under about a mile each way. The walk in is brief — comfortable shoes are usually all you need. The walk to the main viewpoint runs about 2.2 miles round trip. The nearest town is High Rolls.
When to go: year-round. Water volume swings with the seasons here, strongest after snowmelt or rain and lowest in late summer, so check recent streamflow before you go.
